Betty Clooney (April 12, 1931 – August 5, 1976)[1] was an American singer, television presenter, and trailblazer who briefly soared to fame in the 1950s alongside her sister Rosemary Clooney.

While embarking on a short-lived solo career, she released songs such as Kiki and You Are All I See. In 1955, she tied the knot with actor and musician Pupi Campo, with whom she had four children.

Their talent caught the attention of Tony Pastor, a bandleader, who initially hesitated to hire both sisters but eventually relented.

Thus, The Clooney Sisters joined the Pastor band and even appeared in a movie short with the orchestra in 1947.

Collaborating with the Tony Pastor Band, they recorded several songs for Columbia Records, including “The Secretary Song,” “I’m My Own Grandpa,” and “If I Had a Million Dollars.”

In 1948, Rosemary was summoned to New York City to record “Come to On-a My House,” while Betty returned home to Cincinnati.

Betty then made strides in television, becoming a pioneer on WLWT, the city’s first station.

Not only was she a featured singer on the station’s main program, “The 50-50 Club,” broadcast on both TV and radio, but she also hosted her shows, “Teen Canteen” and “Boy Meets Girl.
