Joe Biden (November 20, 1942 – present)
Joe Biden, a well-known political figure, is one of today’s most famous politicians.
Born in November 1942, he’s now 80.
As the 46th President of the United States, Joe Biden started his term in January 2021, taking over from Donald Trump, who was President from 2017 to 2021.
Before being President, Biden, a member of the Democratic Party, was also the 47th Vice President under Barack Obama.
He represented Delaware for a long time, from 1973 to 2009.
Originally from Scranton, Joe Biden moved to Delaware at age ten in 1953.
He went to the University of Delaware and later studied law at Syracuse University.
In 1972, when he was just 29, Joe Biden became the sixth-youngest senator in U.S. history, winning the election to the United States Senate from Delaware.
Unfortunately, that same year brought a tragic event: a car accident took the lives of his wife Neilia and one-year-old daughter Naomi while they were Christmas shopping in Hockessin, Delaware.
Despite thinking about leaving politics to care for his surviving sons, Beau and Hunter, Senate Majority Leader Mike Mansfield convinced Biden to stay.
The truck driver responsible for the accident was never charged, though the incident reportedly haunted him for the rest of his life.
Three years after this tragedy, Biden met and fell in love with teacher Jill Tracy Jacobs on a blind date.
They got married on June 17, 1977, and had a daughter named Ashley Biden in 1981, who is now a social worker.
Outside of politics, Joe Biden also worked as an adjunct professor, co-teaching a constitutional law seminar at Widener University School of Law.
Interestingly, he even traveled overseas at times to teach the class.

In 2006, James, alongside Hunter Biden, the President’s son, acquired Paradigm Global Advisors.
James is married to Sara Jones Biden, and they have three children: Caroline Nicole Biden, Nicholas Coleman Biden, and James Brian Biden Jr.
The couple collaborated on an energy project in May 2021, launching a UK limited liability partnership named 2BT with Reed Smith partner Peter Teare.
Teare stated that 2BT introduced another venture, Shelbourne Partners, focusing on exploring investment opportunities, particularly in the clean energy sector.
However, just a month after its launch, James and Sara abandoned the project without offering clear reasons for their decision.
Post Joe Biden’s election, James received frequent invitations to the White House, and even before his brother’s presidency, he participated in significant events such as the 2011 state dinner and Pope Francis’ visit in 2015.
His business opportunities significantly expanded after his brother assumed the presidency.
As of 2022, James’ net worth is estimated to be around $7 million, despite facing financial challenges approximately ten years ago.
In 2013, he and his wife made a significant financial decision by purchasing a vacation home on Keewaydin Island – a six-bedroom mansion accessible only by boat – for $2.5 million.
However, in 2016, they placed it on the market for $5.9 million and could only sell it for $1.35 million, incurring a substantial loss of over a million dollars.
