Cardi B Parents

Carlos Almanzar and Clara Almanzar are Cardi B’s parents.

Originally from the Dominican Republic, Carlos moved to the United States in 1990 and worked as a taxi driver to support the family.

Clara, of Trinidadian descent, held various jobs, including cashier and store clerk, to provide for her family.

Despite their separation in 2005, Clara single-handedly raised Cardi B and her sister Hennessy Carolina, displaying immense dedication and hard work.

Cardi B has expressed admiration for her mother’s strong work ethic and its influence on her career.

While Cardi B had a complex relationship with her father during her adolescent years, both parents continue to play significant roles in her life.

The multicultural influences from her parents’ backgrounds have contributed to shaping Cardi B’s identity and music career.

Cardi B Siblings

Cardi B has one full sibling, Hennessy Carolina, born on December 22, 1995, making her 26 years old as of 2022.

Hennessy is renowned for her social media presence, modeling work, and makeup-related content.

ICardi B’s father, Carlos Almanzar, is of Dominican descent and relocated to the USA in 1990.

Her mother, Clara Almánzar, has African and Spanish heritage.

Cardi B and Hennessy grew up together in Highbridge, a neighborhood in the South Bronx, New York City, and frequently spent time with their parents and grandmother in Washington Heights.

Their bond is strong, with Cardi B often assuming a protective role in her sister’s life.

Despite Hennessy’s fame, Cardi B recently disclosed having a total of seven siblings, underscoring the significance of family and the joy derived from having a large and supportive family network.

Hennessy Comes Out

As previously mentioned, Hennessy was in a relationship with a girlfriend when she faced a lawsuit from three plaintiffs following an altercation in New York.

During her conversation with Galore, she disclosed that she came out at the age of 20, despite initial lack of support from her parents. “My parents weren’t pleased about it, but I felt the need for them to understand my life, love, and happiness.

So, I had multiple discussions with them until they eventually listened and grasped that there was nothing wrong with being a lesbian,” she recounted.

Hennessy publicly revealed her bisexuality two years later by posting a picture of herself kissing her then-girlfriend in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

“If you can’t accept the ‘B’ in LGBTQ.. (L)lesbian (G)ay (B)BISEXUAL (T)ransexual (Q)ueer, then please don’t speak up for the community if you can’t fully understand ALL of us!” she wrote in the caption of the now-deleted photo, as reported by PEOPLE.

“A bisexual girl expressing that she sometimes likes to kiss and hook up with girls, especially when she’s a little tipsy from wine, sounds human and normal to me! I don’t have a problem with that!”

Cardi B Half Siblings

Besides her full sibling Carolina, Cardi B has six half-siblings from her father’s previous marriage. Expressing fondness for her extended family, the rapper emphasized their role in enriching the family dynamic.

Among these half-siblings are two half-sisters, Maciel Almanzar and Nicauly Villalona, and four half-brothers, among whom is Fernando Almanzar. Details about the other half-siblings of Cardi B are limited.
